Job summary

BluePearl Midtown, NY seeks a Surgical Veterinary Assistant to join our Surgery team. This full-time role supports nursing care for surgery patients, assists during procedures, and communicates with clients on discharge instructions.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in a veterinary hospital, can work independently within a collaborative team, and handle an on-call rotation after training. Schedule: weekdays 4x10s; pay ranges from $22.19–$30.36 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in a veterinary hospital.
• Ability to work independently within a team.
• Comfort with client communication and discharge instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with nursing care to surgery patients per standards.
• Perform physical exams and monitor vitals.
• Stock and maintain cleanliness in Surgery and related areas.
• Assist during surgical procedures as needed.
• Engage with clients during appointments and discuss estimates.
