Job summary

Wenatchee Valley Humane Society in Washington is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our surgical team. You will support patients through pre-, peri-, and post-operative care, ensuring safety, precision, and compassionate handling in a fast-paced environment.

Work alongside veterinarians to monitor anesthesia, place catheters, and train staff. Strong communication with clients and a detail-oriented, collaborative approach are essential to deliver high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician in Washington State with strong clinical skills.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and communicate with clients.
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to make sound decisions in dynamic situations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pre-, peri-, and post-operative care for high-volume surgical patients.
• Monitor anesthesia, vital signs, and respond to medical changes or emergencies.
• Assist veterinarians during surgery and perform technical tasks such as catheter placement and sample analysis.
• Safely handle and document controlled substances with accuracy and compliance.
• Communicate clearly with clients, providing discharge instructions and education.
• Train veterinary assistants and volunteers on patient care protocols and best practices.
