Job summary

Northwest Animal Hospital is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our team and contribute to a patient-first environment. You will assist veterinarians in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, lab work, and client education as part of our new workflow evolution.

Qualifications

• State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician.
• Lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; assist beyond 25 pounds.
• Follow OSHA safety with proper PPE.
• Basic computer skills, MS Office familiarity.
• Basic math and dosing calculations.
• Strong communication for patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in medicine and surgery and other tasks.
• Assist in outpatient exams: histories, vital signs, weights, client education.
• Prepare patients for surgery; monitor vitals during surgery.
• Obtain samples; perform in-hospital lab testing and prepare specimens.
• Take and develop radiographs following safety procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines as directed.
• Maintain rooms and equipment; keep areas clean and stocked.
• Demonstrate warmth, courtesy and professionalism with clients and patients.
• Communicate with veterinarians and team; discuss plans and concerns.
