Job summary

Marion General Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager for Surgical Unit 1 to lead evidence-based patient care, coordinate staffing, and collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

The role, on the night shift, is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with opportunities for professional development and involvement in shared governance and performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (Required)
• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
• RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of Nursing
• 2-3 years nursing experience in related or similar areas of responsibility
• Previous leadership experience such as precepting, charge role, clinical lead role, mentoring, department committee leadership or facilitation of meetings

Responsibilities

• Assists the Manager in accountability for ongoing delivery of patient care in area(s) of responsibility; assures application of the nursing process by Registered Nurses in the clinical setting; assures documentation of patient care in the medical record.
• Assists Manager with planning, assessing, implementing and evaluating patient care as appropriate to department/unit.
• Assists Manager with planning, reviewing and coordinating staffing time schedules and allocating staff as appropriate for volume and patient care needs.
• Maintains daily unit operations including staffing, patient visits and/or admissions, discharges and transfers; serves as a resource to staff.
• Participates in recruitment, selection, retention and evaluation of personnel; staff performance reviews and disciplinary procedures.
• Assists manager in planning and contributing to fiscal management of the unit; resources and supplies in an efficient, cost-effective manner.
• Provides leadership and clinical management through clinical practice, supervision, delegation, and teaching as delegated by Manager/Director.
• Participates in Shared Governance Councils and hospital committees; supports staff with decision making.
