Job summary

Novant Health is seeking an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for our Surgical I & II departments on the evening/night shift (7:00 PM – 3:00 AM). This leadership role supports daily unit operations and nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment.

The ANM provides clinical and administrative leadership at the unit level, coordinates staffing and patient flow, promotes safety, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to uphold Novant

Qualifications

• 4-year degree required; BSN preferred; graduate degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years RN experience; leadership experience preferred.
• Current RN license in North Carolina; facility-specific training within 3 months.
• Successful completion of skills validation and leadership training.

Responsibilities

• Support and supervise nursing staff during shift operations
• Assist with patient flow, staffing coordination, and unit support
• Promote quality patient care and patient satisfaction
• Provide leadership support and assist with conflict resolution and de-escalation when needed
• Serve as a resource for team members and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain effective communication with staff, patients, and leadership
