Job summary

Montgomery College seeks a full-time Surgical Technology faculty member to begin January 2027. The program is ARC/STSA-accredited and the candidate will teach across didactic, lab, and clinical courses while engaging in program evaluation and accreditation activities.

Responsibilities include course instruction, assessment, curriculum development, advising, and service on committees. Travel to clinical sites in the DC/MD/VA area may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Surgical Technology and NBSTSA credential required.
• Three or more years of OR scrub experience or teaching experience within the past five years.
• Demonstrated proficiency in instructional methods, curriculum design and program planning.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching and diverse student populations.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems and teaching with open educational resources (OERs).

Responsibilities

• Teach didactic, laboratory, and clinical Surgical Technology courses.
• Teach 30 semester hours per academic year; possible summer courses.
• Support ARC/STSA accreditation activities and program evaluation.
• Participate in curriculum design, outcomes assessment, and service on committees.
• Travel to clinical sites within DC/MD/VA as needed.
