Qualifications

Job description

Under general supervision of medical and nursing staff, following policies, procedures and professional guidelines, assists with surgical and endoscopy procedures, provides, assembles and cares for surgical supplies, instruments and equipment before, during and after procedures. Assists with cleaning, restocking and processing of the surgical suite, instruments and equipment as needed. Identifies and reports situations requiring intervention to the RN or Clinician. Serves as a clinical preceptor for new OR scrub tech and OR technician students and serves as a resource person in at least five surgical specialty areas.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist training program with active and maintained CST Certification from AST or NCCT.
2. Completion of a Hospital Based Surgical Tech Program plus 10 years, Associate’s Degree program plus 2 years required, or equivalent Military qualifications.
3. 4 years preferred; other non-Associate’s Degree program plus 5 years.
