Mercy Hospital Washington is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the Operating Room team. The role involves preparing and maintaining instruments, assisting the surgical team, and ensuring sterile technique while protecting patient rights and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Surgical Technologist certification preferred
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Surgical Technology experience for non-certified applicants

Responsibilities

• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and operative team while maintaining sterile technique and patient comfort
• Assist surgeons in a knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous manner
• Prepare, organize, and maintain instruments and equipment using procedure preference cards
• Inspect instruments and power equipment before use; troubleshoot, report, and remove faulty equipment from service
• Perform sterile preps and monitor aseptic technique throughout procedures
• Coordinate patient care while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights
• Complete room turnover and termination tasks per department procedures
