Job summary

Corpus Christi Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, invites applications for a PRN Surgical Tech to join our operating room team in Corpus Christi, TX.

The role supports scrub duties, on-call rotations, sterilization operations, and overall OR efficiency.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program is required.
• Certification in Surgical Technology is required.
• Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans for and scrubs assigned surgical procedures in accordance with standards.
• Participates in on-call rotation.
• Operates sterilizer and patient care equipment after training.
• Promotes hospital processes and communicates issues to the chain of command.
• Assists with updating surgeon preference cards, pulling case carts, stocking rooms, turning-over OR, and supply inventory.

Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

• Plans for and scrubs assigned surgical procedures in accordance with AORN, AST, quality, regulatory, and company standards.

• Participates in on-call rotation based on the need of the department.

• Operates the sterilizer and other patient care equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions after proper training.

• Promotes hospital processes and goals, and communicates issues, whether actual or potential, to appropriate person in the chain of command.

• Takes initiative in performing other duties, whether assigned or not, such as assisting with updating surgeon preference cards, pulling case carts, stocking rooms, turning-over the OR, and assisting with scheduled supply inventory.

• Quality Improvement: Strives for high quality performance and takes initiative to make improvements and deliver results.

• Personal Achievement: Sets and achieves personal goals to advance career-related skills, knowledge and abilities and helps others to improve their skills.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology for Surgical Technologist role is required.

• Certification in Surgical Technology.

• Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required.

• 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience is preferred.
