Job description

Do you have a PRN career opportunity as a Surgical Tech PRN within your current employer? Corpus Christi Medical Center, a part of HCA Healthcare, is looking for a qualified candidate to join our team on a PRN basis.

Responsibilities

• Plan for and scrub assigned surgical procedures in accordance with AORN, AST, quality, regulatory, and company standards.
• Participate in on‑call rotation based on departmental needs.
• Operate the sterilizer and other patient‑care equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions after proper training.
• Promote hospital processes and goals, and communicate issues—actual or potential—to appropriate person in the chain of command.
• Take initiative in performing additional duties such as assisting with surgeon preference cards, pulling case carts, stocking rooms, turning over the OR, and supporting scheduled supply inventory.
• Strive for high‑quality performance and drive improvements to deliver results.
• Set and achieve personal goals to advance career‑related skills, knowledge, and abilities, and help others improve their skills.
• Build effective relationships across work groups by treating fellow employees with courtesy, respect, and inclusiveness; maintain a positive attitude and take responsibility for assignments. Help others facilitate care delivery and promote efficiency and morale.
• Demonstrate accountability, discretion, and sound judgment in using or managing hospital resources.
• Deliver high‑quality customer service to all customers through effective application of the ICARE principles and the hospital’s service principles.
• Complete other assigned activities as directed.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Surgical Technology program and holds a Surgical Technologist certification.
• Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Preferred: At least 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
