Job summary

Requires completion of a Surgical Technologist Program, current certification or eligibility within 6 months, High School diploma/GED, and BLS. Responsibilities include maintaining sterile technique, assisting with instrument counts, positioning patients, and supporting the operating room team.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• Completion of a Surgical Technologist Program.
• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist or obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.

Responsibilities

• Checks supplies and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Scrubs in, dons sterile gown and gloves.
• Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants.
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Assists in positioning, skin prep, and draping.
• Passes instruments to the surgeon during surgery.
• Maintains sterile technique throughout procedures.
• Assists with postoperative dressings.
• Supports the operating room team and training of staff.
