Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited surgical technology program.
• 1–2 years of experience and certification preferred.
• LCC-ST certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment if not already certified.
• Knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique and perioperative care.

Responsibilities

• Assist Circulating Nurse to prepare supplies, instrumentation and equipment for surgery.
• Maintain safety and proper identification of specimens.
• Restock supplies in the operating room in a fiscally responsible manner.
• Prepare operative site and assist the surgical team; communicate procedure status.
• Pursue personal growth, attend in-services, and keep policies updated.
• Support teamwork and cooperation in the operating room.
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields; ensure asepsis and assist surgeon.
• Apply sterile technique principles throughout operative procedures.
