Qualifications

• Graduated from a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Surgical Technology program and certification within 12 months.
• Graduated from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Qualify under Grandfathering Clause with 1+ year as a surgical technologist between 2010-2014.
• Hard-to-Fill Clause: certification within 24 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Continuing Medical Education hours (min 15 annually).
• Prepare and check instruments, equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Set up and maintain sterile field with aseptic technique.
• Assist with patient draping and attired with the surgical team.
• Pass instruments to surgeon during procedures.
• Perform sponge and sharp counts with circulating nurse.
