Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room in Batavia, NY. You will prepare instruments, maintain the sterile field, and assist the surgeon during procedures to support safe, efficient operations.

Graduates of an accredited Surgical Technology program with certification within 12 months are preferred; grandfathering/hard-to-fill provisions apply. The role requires meticulous attention to aseptic technique and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualificações

• Graduate from a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Surgical Technology program and obtain certification within 12 months of graduation.
• Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• May qualify under grandfathering/hard-to-fill clauses with specified timelines and requirements.
• Official transcripts or education verification required within 90 days of start date.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain a minimum of 15 Continuing Medical Education hours annually.
• Prepare and check instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
• Set up and maintain a sterile field using aseptic techniques.
• Assist with patient draping and ensure proper attire of the surgical team.
• Pass instruments to the surgeon during procedures.
• Perform sponge and sharp counts with the circulating nurse.
• Clean and sterilize instruments for reuse.
• Stock OR rooms and support specialty surgical services as needed.
• Prepare sterile dressings and assist with post-operative care.
• Contribute to orientation of new staff and unit goals.
• Handle medications, sharps, and syringes on the sterile field as required.

CAAHEP/ABHES Surgical Technology program

Practical nursing diploma

Grandfathering Clause: 1 year surgical technologist experience (2010-2014)

Hard-to-Fill Clause: certification within 24 months of hire

Transcript / education verification within 90 days
