Rochester Regional Health's Surgical Services division seeks a Surgical Technologist to serve as the primary scrub technologist in the operating room. You will be responsible for preparing instruments, organizing supplies, and maintaining a sterile field to ensure efficient, safe procedures.

Applicants should have graduated from an accredited Surgical Technology program or have a nursing background, with on-site shifts in Rochester, NY and an on-call weekend schedule.

Formación

• Graduated from a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Surgical Technology program and obtain certification within 12 months of graduation.
• Graduated from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Provide proof of at least one year of employment as a surgical technologist between Dec 31, 2010 and Dec 31, 2014.
• Qualify under the "Hard-to-Fill Clause" by graduating from an accredited program and obtain certification within 24 months of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain a minimum of 15 Continuing Medical Education hours annually.
• Prepare and check instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Set up and maintain a sterile field, following strict aseptic techniques.
• Assist with patient draping and ensure the surgical team is properly attired.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.
• Perform accurate sponge and sharp counts with the circulating nurse.
• Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization.
• Support specialty surgical services and stock OR rooms as needed.
• Prepare sterile dressings and assist with post-operative care.
• Help orient new staff and contribute to unit goals and objectives.
• May handle medications, sharps, and syringes on the sterile field.

CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Surgical Technology program

Accredited school of practical nursing

Grandfathering Clause—1+ year as a surgical technologist between 2010-2014

Hard-to-Fill Clause—certification within 24 months of hire
