Job summary

Mercyhealth Janesville is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the PM shift to assist surgeons in the operating room. You will maintain a sterile environment, prepare instruments, and support patient safety during procedures.

The role requires familiarity with sterile technique and OR protocols. The position is part-time (20 hours/week) with a PM schedule (11am–7:00 pm), including potential evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program required or currently in accreditation process.
• NBSTSA certification preferred or required if program not accredited but in accreditation process.

Responsibilities

• Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures.
• Scrubs, gowns, gloves, and sets up sterile table with instruments and medications.
• Assists with patient positioning and draping; maintains sterile field.
• Performs counts for sponges, needles, and instruments with circulator.
• Assists in prepping the room and cleaning after procedures; supports performance improvement activities.
