Job summary

Stamford Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the perioperative team. Under RN supervision, you will act as the primary scrub, handling instruments, supplies, and implants to ensure efficient and safe surgeries.

You will maintain aseptic technique, assist with sponge and instrument counts, and support the team throughout procedures. BLS is required, and CT regulations for certification apply upon hire.

Qualifications

• Surgical technologist program completion.
• Certification from a national certifying body within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team as the primary scrub person during procedures.
• Ensure correct counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments.
• Maintain sterile field and proper labeling of specimens.
• Prepare and organize instruments, supplies, and implants for procedures.
• Participate in time-out and respond to intraoperative changes as needed.
