Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the intra-operative team on a full-time basis. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse, preparing the operating room and maintaining sterile technique to support safe patient care.

Responsibilities include instrument handling, case preparation, and adherence to aseptic practices, ensuring patient safety and efficient surgical flow with the Circulating RN.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Minimum Experience: zero to six months.
• Must have and maintain Certification as a Surgical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a sterile environment and aseptic technique throughout the procedure.
• Assists with instrument selection and prepares the sterile field.
• Performs surgical counts of instruments, sponges and sharps to prevent retained items.
• Coordinates with the Circulating RN to ensure timely case flow and safety.
• Positions patient and assists with equipment setup according to surgeon preferences.
