Job summary

Novamed is seeking a Surgical Technologist (Part-Time) for 2-3 days per week, averaging 16-24 hours. The role supports operating room teams under surgeon and RN supervision.

Ideal candidates will have completed an accredited surgical tech program, CPR certification, and 0-2 years of clinical experience. Certification is preferred but not required. Duties include preparing equipment, assisting in patient prep, and aiding in instruments handling.

Qualifications

• Certification preferred but not required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical tech program or equivalent training.
• Must be CPR certified.
• 0-2 years of clinical experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures.
• Sets up surgical instruments and sterile supplies and ensures sterility.
• Tends to patient during pre-operation and assists in positioning.
• Assembles sterile and non-sterile equipment and verifies operability.
• Prepares patient skin, body, and incision sites.
• Transports patients to operating room and assists with positioning.
• Passes instruments to surgeons, counts supplies, and assists the team as needed.
• Operates sterilizers, lights, suction machines, and related diagnostic equipment.
• Restocks room post-operation and maintains a clean environment.
