Job summary

OakLeaf Surgical Hospital in Wisconsin seeks a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team under the surgeon's supervision, ensuring sterile technique, proper instrument handling, and patient safety.

The role includes preparing sterile supplies, assisting with procedures, maintaining Universal Protocol time outs, and documenting events and counts. Flexible, 24 hours per week (.6 FTE) with variable hours.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for employment in the U.S. must be demonstrated.
• Degree from an accredited Surgical Technologist program required.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile field and instruments for procedures.
• Assist surgeon by passing instruments and retractors.
• Maintain sterile technique throughout procedures.
• Perform pre-procedure Time Out and ensure Universal Protocol compliance.
• Handle specimens and label/document appropriately.
• Maintain accurate intraoperative records and counts.
• Assist in room prep and terminal cleaning.
• Participate in on-call rotation as required.
