Job summary

ThedaCare is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in the preparation and care of surgical patients under the direction of a professional nurse or physician. You will apply sterile/aseptic technique and support the surgeon’s performance of procedures in a fast-paced OR.

Based at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Appleton, WI, you will work variable 8-hour shifts with on-call requirements and collaborate with a skilled team across multiple surgical specialties to ensure safe patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of a surgical technologist training program.
• American Heart Association BLS required; ACLS required in Cath Lab.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation.
• Selects instruments, equipment, and supplies for each procedure.
• Prepares room for procedure and ensures OR readiness.
• Scrubs for procedures, passes sterile instruments, assists with surgeries.
• Maintains sterile technique and safe environment.
• Identifies specimens and transports to pathology as directed.
