Job summary

Hendricks Regional Health is seeking a skilled surgical support professional to assist in the delivery of health care in an operating room setting. This role supports anesthesia, surgeons, and OR staff with procedural tasks and ensures instruments are properly cleaned, decontaminated, and sterilized to standards.

You will adapt to changing department activity, collaborate to update supply lists, and maintain a professional, calm environment for patients and clinicians.

Qualifications

• Assist anesthesia, surgeons, and OR staff with procedural tasks.
• Monitor instruments/equipment and ensure proper processing and sterility.
• Carry out cleaning, decontaminating and sterilization procedures.
• Adapt work schedule to department activity and priorities.
• Promote teamwork and efficient workflow in the operating room.
• Maintain a professional, quiet patient environment and adhere to policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN to obtain non-routine supplies for individualized care of clients without compromise of quality or loss of client care time.
• Support patient care by responding to changes in delegated aspects of care and reporting as needed.
• Plan and prepare for surgical interventions and respond to on-going changes in delegated care.
• Consult and collaborate to revise preference cards, instrument sets and supply pull sheets.
• Accept and delegate tasks appropriately and promote teamwork.
