Job summary

West Tennessee Healthcare in Paris, TN seeks a Surgical Technologist to aid in the operating room and support physicians. You will assemble supplies, scrub and assist with instrument handling, and maintain sterile technique during procedures.

The ideal candidate has a certified Surgical Technologist credential, BLS, and orientation-based experience in a surgical setting, with ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand long hours.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 9–12 month surgical technology course.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist required.
• Current BLS certification to be obtained during orientation.
• Program accreditation by CAAHEP/ABHES and COE.
• Three months of departmental orientation to scrub during cases.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Scrub, gown and glove for surgical procedures.
• Identify supplies and prepare equipment and room for procedures.
• Assist with instrument handling and ensure proper storage.
• Maintain correct sponge, needle and instrument counts.
• Handle lab and tissue specimens per established protocol.
• Relieve on cases during shift changes to ensure continuity.
• Assist with room cleanup and prep for the next procedure.
