Job summary

The Center for Specialized Surgery at Fort Myers is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist/Technician (CST) to support the surgeon, RN, and anesthesiologist in the operating room. Responsibilities include scrubbing, preparing cases, setting up, breaking down procedures, and maintaining sterile technique.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma, accredited surgical technology program, CST NBSTSA certification, and BLS. One year of OR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology.
• CST certification verified via NBSTSA.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supplies, equipment, and instruments are ready for use.
• Clean operating room between cases and restock as needed.
• Assist in gowning of other personnel and draping of patient.
• Anticipate surgeon's needs and pass instruments accordingly.
• Maintain the integrity of instruments and ensure proper counts of sponges, instruments, and sharps.
