Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - Jefferson City is seeking a Regular full-time Operating Room Support Technician to provide patient care activities and non-professional services under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

You will set up the OR, gather supplies, assist with procedures, maintain aseptic technique, and communicate with the RN to ensure efficient surgical care. A high school diploma or nursing education/licensing alternatives and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or nursing-equivalency education.
• Experience in operating room or surgical technician schooling required.
• BLS HealthCare Provider certification required.

Responsibilities

• Practical care tasks under RN supervision in the Operating Room.
• Gathers supplies, x-rays and instruments for cases.
• Operates and handles surgical equipment per aseptic technique.
• Communicates patient information to the RN promptly.
• Maintains organized work environment and prioritizes tasks.

Education

High school diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience or Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
