Job summary

SSM Health St. Clare Hospital - Fenton is seeking a patient care technician to assist the Operating Room team, preparing equipment, supplies, x-rays and instruments for procedures under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

You will communicate patient information to the RN, maintain aseptic technique, and help keep the OR organized and ready. Graduate of a technical program for operating room technicians; no prior experience required. Day shift, regular hours in Missouri.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a technical program for operating room technicians.
• BLS HCP certification required by some facilities.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
• Tech in Surgery - Certified (NCCT) or NRST acceptable certification.

Responsibilities

• Practices and implements the technical components of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Collaborates with the RN and other healthcare professionals to implement a plan of care.
• Prepares equipment, supplies and resources for procedures.
• Communicates information to the RN regarding patients.
• Maintains aseptic technique and proper handling of instruments.

Graduate of a technical program for operating room technicians

BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA)

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Tech in Surgery - Certified (NCCT)
