Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital – St. Louis is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will set up the OR, gather supplies and instruments, and assist with procedures while maintaining aseptic technique.

Responsibilities include preparing equipment, communicating with RNs, and ensuring patient safety and efficient case turnover. Requires a high school diploma and BLS HCP certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent required.
• Experience in operating room or as surgical technician preferred.
• BLS HCP certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares equipment, supplies and resources for surgical cases.
• Assists RN and surgical team; communicates patient information.
• Operates and handles surgical instruments; maintains aseptic technique.
• Maintains organized work environment and prioritizes tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
