Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Must be a certified surgical technician.
• Must be certified to perform CPR with 0-2 years of clinical experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures.
• Sets up instruments, sterile drapes, and solutions for operations.
• Tends to patient during pre-operation procedures and ensures sterile environment.
• Assembles and checks sterile and non-sterile equipment; prepares patient skin and incision sites.
• Transports patients, positions them, and assists with gowns and gloves.
• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeons; assists with counting sponges and needles.
• Operates sterilizers, lights, suction machines, and related diagnostic equipment.
• Transferrs patients to recovery and restocks operating room after procedures.

Education
