Job summary

Advanced Surgery Center of Bethesda is seeking a full-time Surgical Technologist to join our OR team. In this role, you will anticipate the surgical team’s needs and establish a sterile field during procedures in the operating room.

The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of OR experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties, BLS, and Scrub Technician Certification; Ortho experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Scrub Technician Certification Program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist.
• BLS Certification.
• 1–2 years operating room experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties.
• Ortho Experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs specified functions to meet the requirements of each approved procedure.
• Assembles supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physicians' preference cards.
• Inspects equipment for proper working condition.
• Follows principles of aseptic technique and prescribed operating/procedure room procedures.
• Adheres to aseptic technique when opening sterile packages and preparing for the procedure.
• Maintains availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delays.
• Reports observed or suspected breaks in sterile technique and takes action according to policy.
