Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in United States, Texas is seeking a Surgical Technologist to prepare and care for pre-operative patients, set up the OR, maintain aseptic technique, and transport patients to the Operating Room.

Under the direction of a professional nurse, you will scrub 3 specialty areas, pass instruments, and assist the physician during surgery while adhering to universal precautions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Surgical Technology program or accredited LVN/LPN program required.
• BLS certification required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN license required.

Responsibilities

• Establish sterile field, pass instruments to the physician, and assist as directed by the physician.
• Under the direction of a professional nurse, perform direct patient care and assistance in the OR prior to and during procedures.
• Scrub 3 specialty areas (e.g., Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Robotics) as highly preferred.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and universal barrier precautions at all times.
• Prepare the OR by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies for each case.
