Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D – Operating Room Specialist)
• Surgical Tech Certification (CST, TS-C, NRCST, or SA-C) preferred and state-specific regs compliance

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the operating room environment is safe
• Ensure that equipment functions properly
• Scrub cases
• Turnover rooms
• Ensure operative procedures maximize patient safety
• Apply sterile and aseptic technique with anatomy and procedures knowledge
• Assist physician during invasive procedures
