Job summary

Novant Health Rowan Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the safe conduct of invasive procedures in the OR under surgeon and RN supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military training (68D), and CST/TS-C/NRCST/SA-C certification where applicable. Prior surgical tech experience is preferred, and candidates must complete required skill validations within 12 months if not certified.

Qualifications

• Education and certification requirements include a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military training (68D).
• Certification in CST/TS-C/NRCST/SA-C is preferred or required by state regulations (SC region).
• Incumbents without a program may need to obtain certification within 12 months and pass required validations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the operating room environment is safe
• Ensure that equipment functions properly
• Scrub cases
• Turnover rooms
• Ensure the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety
• Apply sterile and aseptic technique and understand anatomy and procedures
• Facilitate physician performance of invasive procedures
