Job summary

The Christ Hospital is seeking a scrub technologist to support surgical procedures, ensuring efficient and safe progress of cases. You will assist with instruments, supplies, and patient care while maintaining positive relations with staff and patients.

Under supervision, you will help with suctioning, retractors, skin closure, and sutures, and be accountable to the Clinical Manager. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and ongoing competency development within the Operating Room.

Qualifications

• Experience as scrub technologist or surgical assistant.
• Demonstrates competency and technical skills for assigned cases.
• Assists with suctioning, retractors, skin closure and sutures.
• Maintains instrument and supply readiness for procedures.

Responsibilities

• Check daily assignment and review surgical preference lists.
• Ensure availability of all items required for the case.
• Assist with patient transfer and site care after procedures.
• Communicate with surgeon and health team timely and courteously.
• Support staff development and participate in meetings as appropriate.
• Maintain aseptic technique and instrument counting per policy.
