Qualifications

• Completion of formal education/training to obtain a Certification as a Surgical Tech.
• Knowledge and experience in operative procedures, equipment and instrumentation.
• Certification as a Surgical Tech; CPR.
• Two years hospital surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides intra-operative support as the primary scrub person handling instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Maintains sterile field and assists in preparing operating rooms for surgery.
• Coordinates with circulating nurse to ensure availability of supplies and equipment.
• Operates and documents equipment usage; performs sponge, instrument and needle counts.
• Adheres to safety protocols and participates in CQI activities.
