Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize the sterile field for various surgical procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon and patient needs during procedures.
• Manage specimens, medications on the sterile field, and assist with dressings.
• Set up and maintain a sterile environment and preserve the sterile field during procedures.
• Use proper body mechanics when moving patients, stretchers, and tables to prevent injuries.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing education of OR staff.
• Stock and restock medical supplies; inspect, replace, and sterilize instruments.
