Job summary

Amberwell Health in Hiawatha, KS is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a PRN role in Central Sterilization and OR/PAR support. You will prepare, sterilize and manage instruments, assist Circulating Nurse, and ensure sterile practices across procedures.

The position requires a High School diploma, completion of a surgical tech program (preferred) and a valid BLS certification, with emphasis on HIPAA compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma; graduation from accredited Surgical Tech Program preferred.
• Experience: In-service and orientation regarding Central Sterilization and OR/PAR policies before independent work.
• Certificates, Licenses: Surgical technician certification preferred; BLS certification required.
• Knowledge and Skills: Communicate with diverse backgrounds; basic computer skills; HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Receives, prepares, stores, maintains and dispenses sterile and non-sterile items.
• Wraps and sterilizes instruments, trays and supplies.
• Rotates sterile supplies and checks for outdates.
• Operates and cleans the sterilizer.
• Maintains records on attest, cultures and temperatures of the sterilizer.
• Maintains Central Sterilization inventory and PPE usage.
