Job summary

The Hughston Surgical Center is seeking a qualified Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. Under RN supervision, you will prepare sterile supplies, maintain the sterile field, and support surgeons during orthopedic cases.

Required: 1 year OR experience, orthopedic experience, BLS certification. Graduate of a Surgical Technologist program; high school diploma. This position offers three 12-hour shifts with some flexibility, and opportunities to grow within the Hughston system.

Qualifications

• One year OR experience required.
• Orthopaedic surgical experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and provide sterile supplies, instruments and equipment during surgical procedures.
• Maintain sterile environment and technique.
• Maintain control over all counts during surgery.
• Ensure equipment functioning and verify instruments, supplies and implants are accounted for before surgery.
• Follow department policies and procedures and adhere to universal precautions.
