Job summary

The Hughston Clinic is seeking a Surgical Technologist (Scrub Tech) to assist in operative cases under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will prepare sterile supplies, maintain the sterile field, and manage instruments and implants to support safe patient care.

Responsibilities include documenting instrument counts, verifying equipment, and ensuring adherence to universal precautions. Preferred orthopaedic experience and an active Surgical Technologist certification.

Qualifications

• Required: 1 year of OR experience or graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist Program.
• Preferred: Orthopaedic Surgical experience.
• Required: BLS.
• Preferred: Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and provides sterile supplies, instruments and equipment during surgical procedure.
• Maintains the sterile environment/technique.
• Maintains control over all "countables" during surgery.
• Assures proper functioning of all equipment prior to use intraoperatively.
• Verifies implants and instruments are accounted for before the start of surgery.
• Follows OR policies & procedures for turnover between cases, maintaining efficiency.
