Job summary

The Hughston Surgical Center seeks a skilled Surgical Technologist (Scrub Tech) to support orthopedic procedures under the supervision of an RN. You will prepare and maintain sterile supplies, assist with instrument handling, and help ensure patient safety throughout operative cases.

Required: high school diploma, graduation from an approved Surgical Technologist program, and BLS certification. One year OR orthopedic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and provide sterile supplies, instruments and equipment during surgical procedures.
• Maintain sterile environment and technique throughout procedures.
• Maintain control over all counts during surgery.
• Verify instruments, supplies and implants are accounted for before the start of surgery.
• Follow department policies and procedures and universal precautions.
