Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in a surgical setting preferred, recent graduates encouraged to apply.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes.
• Ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are sterile and organized for quick access during surgery.
• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies as needed during procedures.
• Monitor and maintain a sterile field throughout the surgery.
• Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery.
• Assist with patient preparation, including positioning and draping before surgery.
• Handle specimens collected during surgery.
• Clean and restock the operating room for the next procedure.

Skills

Knowledge of aseptic techniques and sterilization methods

Strong understanding of surgical instruments and procedures

Ability to stay calm under pressure

Education

Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program
