Job summary

Crescent View Surgery Center in Metairie, LA is seeking a Surgical Technologist PRN to assist in operating rooms under surgeons and RNs. Responsibilities include instrument setup, maintaining sterile technique, patient prep, and assisting the team during operations.

Must graduate from an accredited surgical technologist program and be CPR certified with 0–2 years of clinical experience; orthopedic scopes and neuro surgery experience are preferred. On-site, per-diem position with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Must be CPR certified with 0-2 years of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures.
• Set up instruments, sterile drapes, and solutions before operations.
• Tend to patients during pre-operation procedures and ensure sterile technique.
• Prepare skin, body, and equipment for surgery.
• Assemble and check sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment.
• Prepare patients for surgery, assist with patient transport and positioning.
• Assist surgeons and assistants by passing instruments and supplies.
• Assist with specimens, dressings, and post-op cleanup and restocking.
