Job summary

Jamestown Regional Medical Center seeks a Surgical Technologist (PRN) to assist in the operating room, partnering with the RN circulator and surgeon. Responsibilities include instrument setup, sterile field management, patient prep, and intraoperative support.

The role requires completion of an accredited surgical technologist program, ND Board of Nursing UAP, and current BLS CPR. Willingness to mentor student technologists and participate in CPI training is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited surgical technologist program and hold a UAP from the ND Board of Nursing.
• Certification required and maintained; must have BLS CPR; CPI training in due time.
• Two years of surgical technologist experience for coordinator role; on-the-job training four weeks to six months.
• Punctual and regular attendance is essential; ability to work variable days/hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and draping of patient and operative area.
• Prepare and pass instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies; maintain sterile field.
• Assist in patient transfer and positioning; assist with terminal room cleanup.
• Coordinate educational experience for student surgical technologists; mentor and preceptor for CSTs.
• Maintain physician preference cards and AM reports; participate in unit meetings.
• Order/restock medications within OR guidelines and hospital policy.
• Act as liaison site coordinator for colleges/universities; document required information.
