Job summary

SSM Health DePaul Hospital - St. Louis is seeking a Regular Operating Room support role focused on patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will set up the OR, gather supplies, instruments, and equipment for cases, and assist during procedures.

Responsibilities include collaborating with RNs, maintaining aseptic technique, preparing and organizing equipment, and communicating patient information to the RN to support safe, efficient surgical care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or nursing equivalency for licensing.
• Prior operating room experience or graduation from a surgical tech program, or nursing license equivalency.
• BLS Health Care Provider certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Practices and implements the technical components of patient care under the supervision of a RN.
• Collaborates with the RN to implement a plan of care that integrates physician preferences and diagnostic data.
• Prepares equipment, supplies and resources based on an individualized plan of care.
• Communicates accurate and timely information to the RN regarding patients.
• Operates surgical equipment and maintains aseptic technique when handling supplies and instruments.
• Documents quality controls according to unit standards.
