Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our OR team. You will assist in preparing the operating room, maintain sterile field, and support the surgeon with instrumentation throughout surgery.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program and BLS certification; prior surgical tech experience is required; strong teamwork and patient-care focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or hospital-conducted on-the-job training with proof of program content and completion
• Previous work experience as a Surgical Technician with demonstrated competency in multiple inpatient surgical specialties
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

• Assist in cleaning and preparation of the operating room suite and handling instrument sets
• Work in a sterile field and provide instrumentation to the surgeon as needed
• Care for the operative patient before, during, and after surgery
• Maintain instrument counts with the circulating nurse
• Manage supplies and equipment, including sterilization and availability
