Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients. The role involves prepping skin, maintaining aseptic technique, transporting patients to the OR, and assisting surgeons with instruments as directed.

Under supervision, you will scrub multiple specialty areas and ensure a sterile environment. You will also align with hospital policies, safety standards, and team-based care in the Operating Room.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Surgical Technology program or LVN/LPN program completion.
• Experience: 2+ years preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: BLS required; Certified Surgical Technologist within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN license.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of OneCHRISTUS competencies: Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders.
• Under supervision, performs direct patient care tasks in the OR prior to and during surgery.
• Proficiently scrubs 3 specialty areas (e.g., Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Robotics).
• Maintains sterile field, passes instruments, and assists the physician as directed.
• Uses physician preference cards to pull cases and set up the OR.
