Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Mount Pleasant, TX is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in preparing the OR for surgeries, maintain sterile technique, and support the surgical team. Responsibilities include scrubbing multiple specialties, passing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and ensuring aseptic practices.

The role emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and adherence to hospital policies throughout the 7am–7pm schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of the Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program is required.
• BLS certification required; Certified Surgical Technologist within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required.
• 2+ years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains the sterile field; passes instruments to the physician and assists as directed by the physician.
• Under direction of a professional nurse, performs all processes that relate to direct patient care and assistance in the OR prior to and during surgery.
• Scrubs 3 specialty areas including but not limited to Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Titanium Rib, Robotics, etc.; highly preferred.
• Maintains proper traffic control, dress codes, and adherence to OR sanitation policies and procedures.
• Performs decontamination, processing, and sterilization of instruments and supplies as required by facility policies.
• Collaborates with the team to ensure patient safety and sterile technique at all times.
