Job summary

Baylor University Medical Center- Dallas is seeking a Surgical Technologist 2 to assist the surgical team under RN supervision. The role focuses on preparing the operative site, ensuring instrument availability, and maintaining a sterile environment during procedures.

Responsibilities include scrubbing, instrument setup, instrument function checks, and supporting the team with needs during surgery. Prior CST certification and Accredited Program are expected, with adherence to infection control

Qualifications

• Knowledge of infection prevention and regulatory sterilization standards.
• Familiarity with sterile and aseptic technique.
• Understanding of human anatomy and surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Discuss any special needs with the surgeon before surgery and scrub in on time.
• Prepare and maintain the instrument table in an organized way.
• Ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies during procedures.
• Perform surgical counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments per policies.
• Assist with draping, positioning, and handing sterile supplies to the team.
• Disassemble instruments and prepare for decontamination after cases.
