Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• NBSTSA CST certification required within 4 months of employment.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Ability to resource advanced technology.
• 15 continuing education units annually as required by state law.
• Knowledge of various surgical procedures to anticipate surgeon needs.
• Knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation.
• Strict adherence to sterile field policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and arranging surgical instruments and equipment prior to procedures.
• Provide assistance to the surgeon and operating room team during surgeries as permitted.
• Support in turnover of the operating room, including specimen handling and instrument processing.
