Job summary

Indiana University Health in Lafayette is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support surgical teams before, during, and after procedures. You will help arrange instruments, supplies, and sterile field to ensure operating room readiness and patient safety.

You will work closely with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists, maintaining strict sterility and adhering to certification, BLS, and annual CEU requirements while supporting a fast-paced OR environment.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) within 4 months of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to resource advanced technology.
• 15 continuing education units annually.
• Knowledge of various surgical procedures to anticipate surgeon needs.
• Knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation.
• Strict adherence to sterile field policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment before procedures.
• Assist in handling instruments and supplies during surgery for the surgeon.
• Support turnover of the operating room and proper routing/processing of specimens and instruments.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure patient safety.
