Job summary

Penn State Health - St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, PA seeks a Surgical Technologist for the Family Birthing Center. This part-time role (0.60 FTE) covers night shifts: 7:00 pm–7:00 am, two shifts weekly, with every third weekend, and a $2.50 night differential.

You will perform scrub duties, assist in-patient care in the OR under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, and prepare supplies for procedures. Minimum qualifications include an accredited surgical technologist program and BLS.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program with certification.
• New graduates may obtain certification within six months of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub duties in the Operating Room under RN guidance.
• Prepares supplies and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Participates in surgeries while maintaining aseptic technique.
• Acts as a preceptor to less experienced staff and students.
• Serves obstetrics and gynecology patient populations.
